Whole-systems energy modelling and optimisation

    • Presentation speakers

My current research is framed within the wholeSEM – Whole Systems Energy Modelling Consortium (www.wholesem.ac.uk) – project, a consortium of UK universities formed to develop expertise on modelling of energy systems, and to promote the use of energy models in strategic decision making. In this presentation I will give an overview of my current research activities, with particular emphasis on the development of agent-based models for bioenergy supply chains. This work aims to improve the understanding of synergies and interactions between different actors in a complex energy system. I will also give a brief account of my previous research experience in optimisation techniques, and in the context of emission reduction technologies, such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) for electricity generation and industrial processes.
